In April 2024, CIDAUT has actively participated at two relevant European relevant events related to sustainable mobility and intelligent transport, both of them running in parallel since 14th to 18th.
In the framework of TRA 2024, Transport Research Arena, held on the Royal Dublin Society, CIDAUT has presented relevant achievements of the recently finished national project, Integra, and the results of the ongoing project, Probono, funded by the European Green Deal Programme. While the role of CIDAUT in Probono project is oriented to increase the efficiency of the energy consumption by establishing synergies between the buildings and innovative mobility solutions thanks to the use of renewable energy, second life batteries and smart electric vehicles charging solutions, in Integra, CIDAUT applies its knowledge to the development of innovate systems to guarantee the safety of all kinds of users in complex scenarios of mix traffic, with coexistence of automated and human driven vehicles.
At Smart Systems Integration, SSI 2024, held in Hamburg, Jorge Velasco has talked about vehicle detection, classification and tracking in urban environment using computer vision, where the main details of the solution based on artificial intelligence developed by CIDAUTidaut in the framework of Urbane European project have been unveiled. The application is able to recognize the vehicles using delimited urban parking zones, to measure the parking time and to determine parking violations as double parking or unauthorized access.
