System EU | Startup Olé 2025 | RIS3 Forum
Throughout October, CIDAUT actively participated in several key innovation events held in Salamanca and supported by the Junta de Castilla y León. These activities—SYSTEM EU, Startup Olé 2025, and the RIS3 Cross-Border Forum—brought together regional, national, and European stakeholders to promote collaboration, exchange technological knowledge, and reinforce CIDAUT’s role in the energy and mobility innovation ecosystem.
On 14 October, CIDAUT joined the SYSTEM EU initiative, taking part in the Ecosystem Immersion Trip designed to highlight the scientific and technological capabilities of Castilla y León. During this event, Henar Olmedo represented CIDAUT, presenting the foundation’s technological strengths and its ongoing R&D activities in hydrogen, e-fuels and renewable energy systems. The session provided an excellent opportunity to engage with international partners and explore pathways for future collaboration within European innovation programmes.
On 15 October, CIDAUT participated in Startup Olé 2025, where the Foundation contributed to two thematic roundtables. In the session devoted to sustainable mobility, Jorge Velasco represented CIDAUT, sharing insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with innovative mobility solutions. In parallel, Luis Aldea took part in the roundtable focused on energy, where he discussed key aspects of renewable integration, hydrogen technologies, and the development of sustainable energy systems.
Later in the month, on 22 October, CIDAUT participated in the event “Cooperación Territorial, Innovación y Estrategias de Especialización Inteligente (RIS3)”, organised by Fundación Rei Afonso Henriques (FRAH) in collaboration with the University of Salamanca and supported by the Junta de Castilla y León. This cross-border forum, also involving CCDR-N and CCDR-C from northern and central Portugal, aimed to strengthen cooperation in innovation and smart specialisation in preparation for the next 2028–2034 European funding framework. José Ignacio Domínguez represented CIDAUT within the Renewable Energies Working Group, contributing expertise in hydrogen technologies, renewable fuels, industrial decarbonisation, and system-level energy innovation. His participation helped identify new opportunities for collaboration with Spanish and Portuguese partners and reinforced the strategic alignment of CIDAUT’s research activities with regional priorities.
CIDAUT’s participation in these three events further demonstrates its commitment to the energy transition, advanced mobility, and cross-border cooperation. The foundation’s strong presence in Salamanca throughout these activities reflects its long-term engagement with the regional innovation ecosystem and its contribution to shaping the technological landscape of the future.
